Quarter Theme: Growth | Monthly Focus: Strength & AgilityThis Week’s Focus: Core Strength for Martial Arts Power
Hi Rock Solid Families! 👋
We’re kicking off Week 14 with powerful momentum as we enter Quarter 2: Growth! This month, we’re diving into strength and agility—not just in muscles, but in mindset and movement.
This week, we’re zooming in on one of the most important building blocks in martial arts:
💪 CORE STRENGTH = MARTIAL ARTS POWER

In Taekwondo, a strong core is the engine that powers everything—from sharp kicks to solid stances and fast transitions. When a student builds core strength, they’re not just getting stronger—they’re also:
✅ Improving balance and body control
✅ Boosting reaction time and speed
✅ Increasing power in kicks, punches, and blocks
✅ Learning to move with confidence and precision
🥋 What We’re Working on in Class
Your child will be doing exercises designed to make them stronger from the inside out:
Core-based drills like planks, dynamic crunches, and balance challenges
Martial arts movement patterns that require stability and control
Fast agility drills that challenge focus, speed, and stamina
We're also continuing our mental growth work—helping students push through "I can't" moments and learning to stay calm and focused under pressure.
🗣 Try This at Home!
Ask your child:
"What was the hardest drill you did today?"
"Did you find a moment where you wanted to stop—but didn’t?"
"What does it mean to grow stronger, even when it's tough?"
These conversations help connect what they're learning on the mat to life outside of class 💬
Thank you for partnering with us on this journey. The growth we’re seeing is incredible—and we’re just getting started!
See you on the mat,
– Master Joseph & the Rock Solid Team
